Things to work on at home:

Math:

  • Number Recognition: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 - Students can continue to work on identifying their numbers (even out of order).

Literacy:

  • Letter Recognition: Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh, Ii, Jj, Kk, Ll, Mm, Nn, Oo, Pp, Qq, Rr, Ss, Tt, Uu, Vv, Ww, Xx, Yy, Zz - Students can continue to work on identifying both uppercase and lowercase letters, even when they aren't in ABC order.
  • Handwriting: Students can practice writing their letters (both uppercase and lowercase) and their numbers.
  • Letter Sounds: Try asking your child the sounds that different letters make or ask them what letter matches the sound you give them.
  • First and ending/last sounds: Try asking your child what the first and last sounds of words are. (i.e. What is the first sound you hear in dog? or What is the last sound you hear in rat?)
