This week is the Normandy Holiday shop. The kiddos got to "window shop" this morning and complete a wish list of items that they wish to buy for others with prices. The shop will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for students to shop. They may bring money and shop during the school day, or you may come help them shop after school. The shop is NOT open before school starts.
We begin our new module this week called Happy Healthy Me. This module will continue after winter break. We will be discussing how to be the healthiest version of me! Our vocabulary words this week are energy, active, stretch, exercise, healthy, and weight. We introduced 2 new alphafriends; Gg (Good Guy Gopher) and Kk (Kayla Kangaroo). And we have new sight words: big, good, his, and very.
In math we are working with teen numbers, practice with 5 groups, and number stories and number partners.
Thank you for signing up to help us out with Gingerbread house needs. It is very appreciated!
We need some items donated for our Holiday Fun! Please send all items in by Monday, December 16th. We also will need some help on Friday, December 20th with cleaning up after building gingerbread houses.

Thanks for your help!
Our afternoon will be a fun time enjoying popcorn, hot chocolate and watching the Polar Express. Kiddos are allowed to wear pajamas for the entire day of festivities.
Half day kinders are here ALL day on December 20th.
FROSTING RECIPE
1 pound powder sugar
3 egg whites at room temperature
½ teaspoon cream of tartar
Mix in a large bowl with an electric mixer at low speed. Increase the speed to high and beat for about 7 minutes, until the frosting stands in stiff peaks when a knife is pulled through it. Please keep this frosting covered with an airtight lid, as it dries out very quickly. Once the frosting is dry and on the house, it is very hard and keeps the houses together for years! Just store it in a cool, dry place.
Also, please send an 8” x 10” piece of heavy cardboard covered in foil for the base of the house, as well as a box big enough for your child to bring their gingerbread house home in.
This activity is always a favorite with the children and you will have a wonderful keepsake. You are also welcome to come join in the fun and help your child. However, we MUST ask that younger siblings stay home.
